Description
Combine the best of Pacific Coast Highway
biking in the area with the wineries west of Paso Robles and you
have an unbeatable combination. In the morning you will be picked up
from your hotel and we shuttle up to
Ragged Point at the very southern tip of Big Sur. Climbing on our
bikes, we cycle down an isolated and pristine stretch of Pacific
Coast to Cambria, stopping to visit a colony of odd looking elephant
seals along the way. With no major hills, this is perhaps the
easiest way to take in some of the world class scenery by bike that
the area has to offer. After a picnic lunch along the water, we head
inland to taste the wines along Highway 46 West, including Peachy
Canyon, Windward and Castoro Cellars. Coast and wine – an
unforgettable combination.
Bike Rentals
Bike rental is included in the price. We have Specialized®
Sirrus hybrid bikes with Shimano components, flat handlebars and
suspension seatpost available for rental. We chose the Specialized®
Sirrus because its comfort oriented features did not take away from
its ability to perform on the road. It's an ideal blend for light
touring. We equip them with a map case attached to the handlebars
and rear rack bag to store gear. We stock a variety of frame sizes
to fit your needs
Climate / Weather
The climate along the Cambria/Cayucos coastal area is temperate
year round. Temperatures range from 50s to low 80s, sometimes in the
same day. In summer there is often fog along the coast and in winter
we may encounter rain. Spring weather in the Paso Robles area is
usually warm and dry, with temperatures ranging from the low 70s to
mid 80s. Rain is a possibility in March, but the chances of rain
drop significantly from April through October, although June through
August there is virtually no rain. Average fall temperatures range
from the low 80s to mid 90s.
