Directions to Monterey Hotel

Driving from the North:

Exit Route 1 at Central Monterey. Go straight on Fremont, bearing right to Alvarado St.; turn right. The Monterey Hotel is on the left. Parking is available one block away from the hotel. Valet parking and Bellman service is available. There is a reserved pick up and drop off zone at the main entrance to the hotel.

Driving from the South:

Exit Route 1 at Munras St. Proceed to Fremont/Munras intersection; turn left. Proceed to Alvarado St.; turn right. The Monterey Hotel is on the left. Parking is available one block away from the hotel. Valet parking and Bellman service is available. There is a reserved pick up and drop off zone at the main entrance to the hotel.

By plane:
The closest international airport to Monterey is San Francisco International Airport, which is two hours’ drive north of the Monterey Hotel.  
Los Angeles International Airport is six and a half hours’ drive south of the Monterey Hotel. 
Monterey Peninsula Airport is approximately five miles north of the Monterey Hotel on Highway 68. Monterey Peninsula Airport offers more than 80 flights per day to Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Phoenix. Monterey Peninsula Airport is served by United Airlines/Express, American Airlines/American Eagle, and America West Airlines/Express, and their worldwide partners. Monterey Peninsula Airport is located on Olmstead Road off Highway 68, just outside Monterey. Rental cars can be picked up and dropped off at the airport.

San Jose International Airport is approximately two hours' drive north of Monterey. San Jose airport has flights to Atlanta, Chicago, Austin, Portland, Las Vegas, Dallas, Honolulu, Detroit, and Baltimore. San Jose airport is served by Alaska Air, American Eagle, America West, ATA, Continental, Delta, Frontier, Horizon, Mexicana, Northwest, Southwest Airlines, and United Airlines/Express.
 

By train:
The closest Amtrak train station is in Salinas. Monterey and Carmel have small regional train stations. Amtrak provides service from Los Angeles to Seattle along the Pacific Coast. This train service offers sleeper cars, dining car, and sightseeing lounge. Call (800) USA-RAIL for more information.
