Day 1
Morning
Begin your journey early. Just north of Oakhurst on Highway 41, turn east on
County Road 200 through O’Neals to the town of North Fork on Forest Road 81.
Two miles north designates the beginning of Sierra Vista National Scenic
Byway. This stunning 87.5 mile route will take you approximately 5 hours as
you explore the beauty and spirit of the Sierra National Forest. Along the
way, stop to visit Arch Rock, Fresno Dome and Globe Rock. Your journey will
end back at Highway 41. Continue north to Apple Tree Inn.

Day 2
Morning
Enjoy an expanded Continental breakfast at Apple Tree Inn.
Follow Highway 41 North to Yosemite Village. Take some time to explore the
valley and perhaps enjoy a hike along one of the many trails.
Afternoon
After a picnic lunch (available from Apple Tree Inn- check with the front
desk), follow Highway 140, Mariposa County Scenic Byway for 27 miles through
inspiring views and awesome scenery. Allow at least one hour.
Day 3
Morning and afternoon
After your expanded Continental breakfast, follow Highway 41 North to
Highway 120, Tioga Road Scenic Byway. This byway, approximately 64 miles in
length, offers one of the most spectacular passages over the Sierra Nevada.
You'll drive through the highest automobile pass in California and
experience an elevation change of over one mile from west to east. Views
include towering granite peaks, pristine lakes, wildflower-covered meadows,
and lush evergreen forests with Giant Sequoia groves. See how ancient
glaciers created the serene, yet rugged, landscape. Allow an entire day, and
don’t forget your picnic lunch.
